Man held with 4 gold bars at Shahjalal

Airport Armed Police (AAP) personnel arrested a man along with four gold bars, weighing four kilograms, at Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) International Airport on Friday. The arrested was identified as Mizanur Rahman, 40. ASP Tanjina Akter of AAP said Mizanur Rahman landed at ShahjalalAirport by a flight of ‘Malaysia Airlines’ from Kuala Lumpur around 11:00am. Suspecting the movement of Mizanur, the plainclothes police of AAP challenged him while crossing the green channel around 11:30 am. Later the AAP men caught Mizanur after a hot chase and recovered four gold bars after searching his body. The market value of the seized gold bars is Tk20 million, she said, according to a news agency.
