Man held with 932 grams gold at Shahjalal

Customs officials arrested a man along with 932 grams gold worth Tk4.50 million at Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Saturday. The arrestee was identified as Umar Faruqe of in Feni district. Sohel Rahman Joint Commissioner of Dhaka Customs House said Faruqe arrived here from Saudi Arabia by a flight of Saudi Airlines, ‘SV 808’, around 12:30 pm. Tipped off, the customs officials challenged Farque while crossing the green channel and seized the gold from a tin of milk powder he was carrying, he said, according to a news agency.
