JESSORE, Dec 31 (UNB): A man was killed over extra-marital affairs of his wife at Ghoranath village in Bagharpara upazila early Saturday.
The victim was identified as Ashutosh Chandra Biswas, 35, son of Khitish Chandra Biswas of the village.
Police quoting local people said Mira Rani, 20, wife of Ashutosh developed an extra-marital relationship with her neighbour Roni, son of Birendra Roy.
When Ashutosh came to know the matter he tried to prevent his wife but failed. Later, Roni as per the instigation of Mira decided to kill Ashutosh.
Finding Ashutosh alone Roni stabbed him indiscriminately at about 11:30pm on Friday night, leaving him critically injured.
Hearing his cry for help locals rushed Ashutosh to Jessore General Hospital and later he was shifted to Khulna Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries early in the morning. Police detained Mira Rani for interrogation. A case was filed.
