Man killed in Kishoreganj clash

KISHOREGANJ, Jan 1 (UNB): A man was killed and 10 people were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers over a land dispute at Ram Shankarpur village under Bhairab municipality on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Sajib Ahmed, 40, son of Motaleb Mia of the village.
Quoting locals, police said Saddam and Bachchu Mia of the village had long been at loggerheads over the ownership of a piece of land.
The disputing groups went to arbitration on Wednesday morning to settle the matter.
A chase and counter-chase took place during the melee that left 11 people, including Sajib, injured.
Later, Sajib, an arbitrator, succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital.
