Man killed in Lalmonirhat crash

A pedestrian was killed in a road accident near Centre of Polli Bidyut in Aditmari upazila in Lalmonirhat district on Thursday night. The deceased was identified as Helal Uddin, 45, son of Abdul Malek of Badiar Chowra village under the upazila. Locals said the accident occurred when a pickup van hit Helal on the Lalmonirhat-Patgram highway, leaving him seriously injured. He was rescued and rushed to a local hospital which referred him to Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH0. He succumbed to his injuries at RMCH at night. Police arrested the driver of the pickup van, according to BSS.
