Man killed in motorcycle accident in Noakhali

A man was killed in a motorcycle accident at New Bus-Stand area on the Companiganj Dagonbhuyan road under Companiganj upazila of Noakhali district on Monday. The deceased was identified as M Saiful Islam, 27, son of M Mujibul Haque of Musapur village of the upazila. Sajidur Rahman, officer-in-Charge of Companiganj Thana said, the accident occurred when a pickup van hit a motorcycle from opposite direction in the area at about 9am, leaving motorcycle rider Saiful dead on the spot. Police recovered the body and sent it to Noakhali Abdul Malek Ukil Medical College Hospital morgue. Police seized the pickup van but its driver and helper managed to flee away, according to a news agency.
