Man killed in Sunamganj clash

SUNAMGANJ, Jan 22 (UNB): A man was killed and two others were injured in a clash over a trifling matter at Sorailtupa village in Dirai upazila on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Jalal Uddin, 35, son of Mohammad Yunus, a resident of the village.
Quoting witnesses, police said the clash ensued between local residents Mohammad Jalal and Mohibur over erecting a fence on the village road.
At one stage, supporters of Jalal and Mohibur, in two groups equipped with homemade arms, locked in a fierce clash, leaving Jalal dead on the spot.
On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. The injured were admitted to Sunamganj sadar hospital.
Alam, officer-in-charge of Sunamganj police station, confirmed the incident.
