Man kills wife in Savar

A housewife has been stabbed to death allegedly by her husband at Bonpukur Moholla in Savar municipality area. The victim was identified as Popy Begum, 30, wife of Akter Hossain of Matlab upazila in Chandpur district. Locals said the couple locked in an altercation over a family matter at their rented house at Savar town on Wednesday night. At one stage, Akter, Savar, reportedly a drug addict, stabbed Popy, leaving her critically injured. She was rushed to Savar Enam Medical College and Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries on Thursday. Akter was arrested in the morning, according to UNB.
