Man \\\'kills\\\' wife, minor daughter

Police recovered hanging bodies of a woman and her daughter in Bijoynagar village under Harirampur Upazila in Manikganj district on Sunday. The deceased were identified as Jyotsna Begam, 28, wife of Tara Miah of the village, and their daughter Sadia Akter, 6. Local people said Tara Miah used to demand dowry money from Jyotsna and torture her. On Saturday night, Tara engaged in an altercation with Jyotsna when she refused to give him money. The villagers spotted the bodies of Jyotsna and her daughter Sadia hanging from a tree near their house and informed police, who rushed in and recovered the bodies around 9:00am. The bodies were sent to Manikganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy. Tara Miah went into hiding after the incident. Police said Tara might have strangulated Jyotsna and Sadia to death and hung the bodies on the tree, according to UNB.
