Man lynched in Chandina

A suspected robber was killed in mob beating in Mohichail-Gozaria area under Chandina Upazila in Comilla district on Monday. The deceased was identified as Yunus, 32, son of Salim Uddin. Police, quoting local sources, said a gang of robbers swooped on a microbus in Dhaka-Chittagong Highway for robbing. Later passengers and locals chased the robbers and caught a man whom they claimed to be the member of the robbers’ gang. The mob beat the suspected robber mercilessly, leaving him critically injured. Being informed, a team from Chandina Police Station rushed to the spot and rescued injured Yunus. The cops then whisked him to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, according to a news agency.
