Man run over by truck

A man has died after being run over by a vegetable-laden truck in Dhaka’s Karwan Bazar. Tejgaon Police Sub-Inspector Khokan Mia said the accident took place in front of the Janata Tower in the early hours of Wednesday. The victim, around 45 years old, had lungi and sweater on. Police have detained the truck driver, identified as Narayan Chadra. SI Khokan said the man was severely injured in the accident. The doctors declared him dead after he was rushed to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH). ‘Probably, the truck ran him over while turning it around,’ the SI said. The locals said the victim was a hawker. The body has been kept at the DMCH for autopsy, according to bdnews24.com.
