Man sentenced to life for killing wife in Manikganj

MANIKGANJ, Oct 15 (BSS): A Mankganj court has sentenced one person to life term in prison for killing his wife in Manikganj in 2003.
The convict is Masum of village Shibrampur under Shibalaya Upazila of the district.
District and Sessions Judge of Maniganj Sabina Yasmin pronounced the verdict on Sunday in presence of the convict in a crowded court room. The court also fined him Tk 20,000, in default, he will have to suffer more six month in jail.
According to the prosecution story, the accused killed his wife Nargis by triangulating her at his residence following a family feud on April 9, in 2003 and went into hiding. On information, Shibalaya Police recovered the body of the victim and sent it to the morgue of Maniganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
