Man shot dead in Ctg

Some miscreants shot to death a man in Boro Hatia village under Lohagara Upazila in Chittagong district on Friday. The dead is Anil Rudra, 45, a farmer and son of Niranjan Rudra of the Upazila. Local sources said a gang of 8/10 miscreants, stormed the local market and looted valuables from 10/12 shops there and 5/7 adjacent houses keeping local people hostage at gunpoint around 2:30am. The looted items mainly include mobile phone sets worth Tk 0.3 million. While fleeing with the booty, the miscreants opened fire at Anil, leaving him dead on the spot. Mohammad Jonayet Hossain, chairman of Boro Hatia Union Parishad, confirmed the incident. Being informed, police rushed in and sent the body to a hospital for an autopsy. Imran Bhuiyan, assistant superintendent of police (Satkania circle), visited the spot, according to a news agency.
