Man shot dead in Gazipur by muggers

GAZIPUR, Dec 28 (UNB): A man was shot dead by a gang of muggers and another sustained bullet wound on Konabari-Kashimpur road in front of Konabari Brac Bank Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Roman (35), a messenger of Konabari union Awami League (AL) office. Ashiq (25), a bKash, mobile money transfer service, agent was injured in the gun attack.
Quoting witnesses, police said a group of armed muggers swooped on bKash agent Ashiq when he reached in front of Brac Bank with Tk 0.115 million to deposit the money with the bank.
The snatchers fired several rounds of bullet and fled away with the money, leaving Roman, who rushed to the spot to help Ashiq, dead on the spot and Ashiq injured.
