Man shot dead over land dispute

SYLHET, June 8 (UNB): A man was shot to death by rivals over land related dispute in Baghbari area of the city on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Mohibur Rahman (55), son of Abdul Latif, a resident of the area. Locals said Abdul Latif had long been at loggerheads with Pakhi Sohel of the area over the ownership of a piece of land. As a sequel to their enmity, supporters of Sohel fired gunshot at Latif and his son Mohibur in the area on Sunday night, leaving the duo critically injured.
