Man stabbed to death over land dispute

SHERPUR, Apr 23 (UNB): A man was stabbed to death allegedly by his neighbour over a land-related dispute at Ujan Gangpar village in Nalitabari upazila on Wednesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Surimamud,60, a resident of the village.
Quoting locals, police said there was a longstanding enmity between Surimamud and his neighbour Abdul Barik over the ownership of a piece of land.
As a sequel to the enmity, Abdul Barik and his wife Nazma Begum attacked Surimamud and stabbed him indiscriminately with sharp weapons while he was going to the disputed land to harvest paddy at about 7:30 am, leaving him dead on the spot.
