Man to die for killing wife in Ctg

A Chittagong court on Thursday sentenced a man to death for killing his wife in the city in 2008.
The condemned convict was identified as M Anwar Hossain Sujon, 30, son of Delwar Hossain, of Betray lane under Kotwali Police Station in the port city, a news agency report said.
According to the prosecution, Sujon beat his wife Khaleda Akhter Sonia to death and hanged the body with a ceiling in their house on the night of April 20 in 2008 for dowry.
On May 5, the victim’s sister Jahanara filed a case against Sujon with Chittagong Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal.
After examining 10 witnesses and documents, Judge of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-1 M Rezaul Karim handed down the verdict.
