Man to walk gallows for murder

COMILLA, Nov 27 (UNB): A court here on Tuesday convicted a man and sentenced him to death for killing a minor boy nearly three years back. The condemned convict is Tofael.
According to the prosecution, Tofael kidnapped Alauddin, 9, son of Abdus Salam of Joypur village in Debidwar upazila on January 30 in 2010.
Later, an unidentified caller demanded Tk 1 lakh to the mother of Alauddin as ransom over mobile phone.
On February 3, local people found the body of Alauddin floating in a water body at the village.
Salam filed a case with Debidwar Police Station on February 13. Police arrested Tofael after tracking his mobile phone.
