Mango prices unlikely to come down

RAJSHAHI, June-11: The prices of mango in Rajshahi district are unlikely to come down this season because the agents of various companies are purchasing huge quantities of mango from various markets of Rajshahi and Chapainawabganj districts.

The agents of corporate companies are purchasing more than 1,000 tonnes of mango per day from various places of Rajshahi and Chapainawabganj districts and sending those to their companies for processing and export.

Several hundred suppliers of mangoes have also been employed as commission agents to send mangoes to the agents of those corporate companies. These suppliers are purchasing mangoes from Chapainawabganj Sadar, Bholahat, Kansat, Baneswar, Arany, Charghat, Bagha and Puthia under Rajshahi and Chapainwabganj districts.
