Manna, Khoka charged with sedition

Police have brought sedition charges against Nagorik Oikya chief Mahmudur Rahman Manna and BNP leader Sadeque Hossain Khoka. A leaked phone conversation between the two revealed how they planned to destabilise the government by engineering clashes at the Dhaka University. Police's Assistant Commissioner Nurul Alam told bdnews24.com that the case was filed with Gulshan police. Manna had been pushing for a dialogue between the Awami League and BNP to end the political impasse. In the leaked conversation, the former Awami League leader's true motive behind the push for a dialogue is revealed-to make Nagorik Oikya the 'third most important party' in Bangladesh.
