Many Chinese still prefer govt jobs

BEIJING, Nov 7 (Reuters): A post with China's Ministry of Agriculture was the most sought after position at last weekend's civil service exams, state media said, adding that a job with the government was still considered attractive by many Chinese.
Competition is even fiercer this year than last, with 60 people applying for each job on average, compared with 42 last year, the official Xinhua news agency said, citing a statement from the ministry of personnel.
Proportionally, the toughest post to apply for was with one of the central organs of the Communist Party, with 162 people after each of the rare jobs, it said.
