Manzur Elahi takes over as FBCCI administrator

Syed Manzur Elahi, appointed FBCCI administrator by the government on Thursday, took over charge of the apex trade body Saturday, reports UNB.
He met the executives and employees of the FBCCI secretariat, and sought their cooperation in holding an acceptable election to the executive committee of the federation.
The FBCCI staffers welcomed their new boss.
"I'll do whatever necessary to hold a free and fair election," he told reporters.
Manzur Elahi, also a former caretaker government adviser, has been appointed for 120 days to administer the day-to-day affairs of FBCCI and take necessary measures to conduct the election within the stipulated time.
This is for the third time an administrator has been appointed to the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) after 1982 and 1989.
The administrator was appointed with the expiry of extended tenure of the outgoing executive committee of the apex trade body on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the dispute got settled in the court on Thursday.
