Maritime verdict victory of BD: Indian media

Indian media have described the verdict on Bangladesh-India maritime delimitation as a victory for Bangladesh. India’s popular English daily The Hindu headlined ‘Bangladesh wins maritime dispute with India’ while Kolkata-based daily – The Telegraph - carried a story headlined ‘Gone: sea larger than Bengal, UN tribunal awards Dhaka marine chunk. Besides, The Economic Times ran a story headlined ‘UN panel rules for Dhaka in Bay of Bengal dispute.’ The much-awaited verdict on the dispute over the delimitation of the maritime boundary between India and Bangladesh was made public on Tuesday, with a United Nations tribunal awarding Bangladesh 19,467 sq km of the 25,602 sq. km sea area of the Bay of Bengal, The Hindu writes, according to a news agency.
