FE Report
This week's sale was held after a fortnightly gap and met with a good demand although buyers were a little hesitant at the start. A feature of sale was the strong interest for the good liquoring varieties. Blenders/Packeteers were more active in the week whilst there was improved enquiry from the Loose tea buyers. Pakistan buyers were selective. Dusts enjoyed a better market following more competition.
CTC LEAF: 24,534 packages (10 packages Old Season) on offer met with a good demand but were slightly easier particularly at the beginning.
BROKENS: Good liquoring Brokens were in good demand and were sold well but were often easier and these could be quoted between Tk 123 and Tk 126. Other varieties eased by Tk 1.00 to Tk 2.00 and these could be quoted between Tk 121 and Tk 124.
FANNINGS: Well made Fannings were a strong feature and were generally firm and these could be quoted between Tk 125 and Tk 127 whilst others eased by up to Tk 1.00.
CTC DUST: 4,269 packages on offer met with a better demand. Select few lines of best liquoring types were firm to slightly easier whilst all others sold around last levels. Ds and CDs were mostly fully firm to slightly dearer. Both Blenders and Loose tea buyers lent more support.
