Marketable skills to 4.5m people

The government has adopted a programme to provide basic literacy and marketable skills to about 4.5 million (45 lakh) illiterate people aged between 15 and 45 years. An amount of Tk 4.52 billion (452 crore) has been allocated for the programme which will be implemented in 250 upazilas under 64 districts of the country. This was disclosed by the minister for primary and mass education, Mostafizur Rahman, at a seminar on non-formal education Sunday. — BSS
