Martyred Intellectuals Day Sunday

The Martyred Intellectuals Day will be observed on Sunday (December 14). People will visit the Martyred Intellectuals Mausoleum in the city’s Mirpur-1 to pay homage to the greatest sons of the soil. The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), in a release, has asked all types of service transports such as bus, truck, human hauler and three wheelers to ply on alternative routes instead of Mazar Road crossing to Mirpur-1 crossing from 6:00am to 9:30am on Sunday. The DMP requested the transports to use alternative roads for smooth movement of vehicles during the period as the President, the Prime Minister, and leaders of various political parties and other organisations will go to the Martyred Intellectuals Monuments in Mirpur to pay homage on the martyred intellectuals. The DMP advised that the vehicles which will come to Mirpur from Ashulia via Mirpur Beribadh must use Hazrat Shah Ali Thana road after turning left of Nababerbagh crossing. The transports, which will have to cross Shah Ali mazar area through Mazar Road crossing, must use Darus Salam Road through the Technical crossing. Besides, the vehicles going towards Gabtali from Mirpur-10 crossing through Mazar Road shall have to use the Technical crossing through Mirpur-1 and Darus Salam Road, according to a news agency.
