Marvelous Mustafiz enters world mark

FE OOnline Report | Monday, 22 June 2015

The Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium at Mirpur turned into a fever pitch as wonderboy Mustafizur Rahman completed his six-wicket haul against India to batter the batting lineup of Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s team on Sunday night. India were bundled out for 200 and Bangladesh went on to win the 2nd ODI and the series at Mirpur in Dhaka. Mustafiz’s six-wicket haul on Sunday followed up his brilliant five-for on his debut at the same venue on Friday against the Indians. The 19-year-old left-armer from Satkhira emulated Brian Vitori of Zimbabwe who set the world record of two consecutive five-wicket hauls in debut in 2011. Mustafizur shattered that record at the rain-drenched Sher-e-Bangla national stadium on Sunday. His ferocious pace ripped through the Indian batting and dented Dhoni’s expectation to retrieve the two-time World Cup champions' prestige and retain the hope for series win against the Tigers.
