Wednesday, 23 December 2009

Mashrafe Bin Mortaza will lead Bangladesh cricket team in the Tri-Nation Cricket Tournament involving India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, and in the test series against India at home in January next, reports UNB.
Shakib Al Hasan will be the Vice Captain of the national team in both the tri-nation and test series. Shakib was named as stand-in captain when captain Mashrafe suffered injury during the first test in West Indies tour in the middle of this year.
The decision was taken in the 13th meeting of the BCB Board of Directors Tuesday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur with BCB President AHM Mustafa Kamal, MP in the chair.
Under the leadership of Shakib, Bangladesh won the test series and ODI series against West Indies and Zimbabwe in July this year.

A selected team of the 26-member preliminary squad, now in the national camp, will play a day-night basis one-day match against Dhaka Premier Division League Champions Dhaka Mohammedan SC at the SBNCS on Saturday (Dec 26). Mashrafe Bin Mortaza will play in the practice match, subject to his fitness.
