Masihur Rahman takes over as EXIM Bank MD

Kazi Masihur Rahman had been appointed Managing Director (MD) of EXIM Bank with effect from June 4.
He joined EXIM Bank in August last year as additional managing director. Prior to joining the bank he served as deputy managing director of Prime Bank for more than two years.
He completed banking diploma, and M Phil level course in advanced economics and quantitative techniques, conducted by BIDS.
Earlier, after completion of his Masters degree in Economics from Dhaka University, he started his banking career as a probationary officer with Sonali Bank in 1977. He served the bank in different positions in head office, Dhaka city branches and the UK branches.
Masihur joined BASIC Bank as company secretary in 1988 in its formative stage, and was actively involved in setting up the new bank and in its overall operations.
Then he moved to Dubai-based Mashreq Bank as AVP (Operation) in 1990. He worked as a core team member in the restructuring projects of the bank, conducted by internationally reputed consulting firms.
After serving the bank for about 4 years, he joined United Saudi Commercial Bank of S Arabia in 1993 as head of system and procedures department.
In 1997, he joined Saudi Hollandi Bank, a joint venture of ABN AMRO Bank, and served the bank for more than six years as country head of trade finance.
