Mason kidnapped, ransom demanded

Miscreants on Monday demanded Tk 0.1 million as ransom for the release of a mason who was kidnapped in Sadar upazila of Naogaon five days ago. The kidnappers called the brother of victim Majed Ali, 30, of Hasaigari village, over his mobile phone from the cellphone of Majed in the evening and demanded the ransom, said family sources. A complaint was lodged with Sadar Police Station in this regard. As per the complaint, Majed, son of Meher Ali of the village, went out of his house for work on Wednesday morning, but he did not return home. Officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station M Zakirul Islam said they have formed several teams to rescue the victim, according to a news agency.
