Massive corruption at BAVS alleged

A group of employees of the Bangladesh Association for Voluntary Sterilisation (BAVS) Wednesday demanded suspension of its executive director and assistant director (finance) immediately on charge of massive corruption.
They said this at a press briefing organised by the employees of the BAVS at the National Press Club in the city Wednesday.
The BAVS employees requested the government to axe the accused persons saying they should be suspended in order to make the association more accountable, fair and corruption-free and to save the family of about 400 staff of the association.
BAVS Rajshahi District President Mahmud Elahi, Barisal District Manager MA Malek, Bogra District Manager Faruk Ahmed, Natore District Manager Obaidul Huq and Shamima Hasan of BAVS Rajshahi maternity division attended the press conference.
Other employees of the association were present on the occasion.
