Massive preparations to celebrate Eid in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Sept 23 (BSS): Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC), district administration and all others concerned have chalked out elaborate programmes to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha in the city with due fervour and enthusiasm.
The main Eid jamaat will be held on Shahmukhdum Central Eidgah Maidan at 8am. However, subject to inclement weather, the biggest Eid congregation will be held at Darga Mosque.
The second and third largest congregations will be held at Shaheb Bazar Zero point and on Tikapara Eidgah Maidan at 8.30 am.
Other Eid jamaats will be held at Rajshahi University, Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology, Rajshahi Court Eidgah, Rajshahi Stadium, Shalbagan Eidgah, New Market Jame Mosque, Police Line Math, Upashahar Eidgah Maidan and Rajarhata Jame Mosque.
Over 150 Eid-ul-Azha jamaats are scheduled to be held at the traditional and temporary venues in the Rajshahi metropolis under the supervision of the respective Eid jamaat committee.
To make the city's Eid congregations successful, Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) is facilitating necessary decoration arrangement for around 70 Eid jamaats.
The city corporation will decorate the entire city roads and islands with national flags and banners inscribed with "Eid-Mubarak" in Bangla and Arabic.
Rajshahi Metropolitan Police and RAB have taken all-out security measures for peaceful celebration of Eid-ul-Azha.
Marking the celebration, special diets will be served to the inmates of different hospitals, jails and Government Shishu Sadan.
On the occasion, the city dwellers have been requested to dump the wastes and remains of the sacrificial animals under the ground and clean the slaughtering spots properly.
Similar reports of adopting elaborate programmes to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha were received here from the districts of Chapainawabganj, Naogaon, Natore, Pabna, Sirajganj, Bogra, Joypurhat and other northern districts.
