Master plan for agri dev in coastal dists: PM

The government has undertaken a master plan for agricultural development in 14 coastal districts involving Tk 580 billion. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said this while responding to a starred question from Enamul Huq (Rajshahi-4) during the PM’s question-answer hour. She mentioned that the government has taken the ‘Master Plan for Agricultural Development in Southern Region of Bangladesh’, aiming to ensure food security, alleviating poverty and improving the living standard in the 14 coastal districts. Hasina said the master plan will be implemented by 2021 identifying 85 activities with the highest, high, medium and low priorities, according to a news agency.
