Masud Uddin Chy placed on 3-day remand again

A Dhaka court has placed former lawmaker and Lieutenant General (retd) Masud Uddin Chowdhury on a three-day remand for the third time in a case involving embezzlement of Tk 240 billion and human trafficking.
After completing a six-day remand in the second phase, Masud Chowdhury was produced before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Saturday. The investigation officer requested an additional four-day remand to continue the probe, reports BSS.
Following the hearing, Metropolitan Magistrate Didarul Alam, acting on behalf of the CMM, approved a three-day police remand.
Earlier, he was arrested on the night of March 23 at his residence in the Baridhara DOHS area.
