Materials to build main Padma Bridge reaches Mawa

Three consignments of equipment for building the main structure of Padma Bridge have arrived at the construction site at Mawa at Lauhajang Upazila in Munshiganj district. Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has informed that one more consignment was on way to the site. The government on June 2 awarded China Major Bridge Engineering Co Ltd the job of constructing the bridge’s main structure at Tk 121 billion. Talking to reporters at his office in the city, Quader said that construction of the main Bridge on the River Padma will start shortly, according to a news agency.
