Matsha Sampad Unnayan Abhijan begins Saturday

Fisheries and livestock ministry will launch a week-long 'Matsha Sampad Unnayan Abhijan 2008' Saturday next with a view to building awareness for boosting fish production and conservation of resources.
Chief adviser Fakhrudin Ahmed is expected to inaugurate the programme to be held at Sunamganj Government Jubilee High School in Sylhet through releasing fries in Surma river, according to the Fisheries and livestock ministry.
CA's special assistant for Fisheries and livestock ministry Maniklal Samaddar will be present on the occasion.
As part of the programme, President Prof. Iajuddin Ahmed will release fries in the Bangabhaban pond at 11am on August 26.
Colourful rallies will be organised at district and upazia levels across the country to encourage people in fish farming. As part of the programmes, campaigns, discussions and fairs will be organised during the week.
At division level, the authorities will organise fish fairs during August 25-29. Over 100,000 posters will be distributed across the country to encourage people for farming fishes.
Finance adviser AB Mirza Md. Azizul Islam will inaugurate a fish fair at Krishibid Institute in Farmgate August 24. Essay competitions will be organised separately at schools and colleges on the day.
