Maulana Bhashani Hockey Stadium gets int'l status

Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) has announced the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium as the 'full international venue', reports UNB.
AHF chief executive Tayyab Ikram came up with the announcement at a press conference at Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium on Saturday.
"With the successful hosting of the Hero Asia Cup, Dhaka is now a fully recognised international venue. I would like to say that Dhaka can look forward to host more international tourneys in future," said the chief executive.
Ikram also pledged that Bangladesh will be invited for the umpiring courses, technical delegates' programme, training workshop for coaches and other technical assistance programmes.
"Bangladesh should come forward to support these initiatives," he added.
Tayyab appreciated the Bangladeshi government for providing financial support for hockey in the past.
