Maulana Sabbir taken on 5-day remand

The Nayeb-e-Amir of banned militant organization Harkat-ul-Jihad Al Islami (HuJI) Maulana Abdul Hannan alias Sabbir was taken on a five-day police remand for interrogation in connection with the bomb attack on a rally of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) at Paltan Maidan on January 20 in 2001, reports BSS.
A team of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Police Monday produced Maulana Sabbir before the court of Metropolitan Magistrate (MM) Keshab Ray Chowdhury with a prayer for granting 10 days' remand. The court after hearing the argument of the prosecution granted five-day remand for the accused.
