Mawa-Kawrakandi ferry service suspended

The ferry services on Mawa-Kawrakandi route remained suspended as a terminal at Mawa was devoured by the Padma River on Tuesday night. AKM Ashiquzzaman Chowdhury, Assistant General Manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC), said the terminal No-3 at Mawa was washed away by strong currents of the river around 8:45pm, forcing the authorities to suspend the ferry services, according to a news agency.
