Mayor Lokman\\\'s 3rd death anniv observed

People from all walks of life on Friday placed wreaths at the grave of Lokman Hossain, a popular mayor who was gunned down by some miscreants in Narsingdi town three years ago. The third death anniversary of the slain Narsingdi mayor was observed in a befitting manner. A memorial meeting on Lokman, also a local Awami League leader, was held at Awami League office in Narsingdi town on Friday evening. A discussion meeting was held on the premises of the pourasava (municipality)’s graveyard today. State Minister for Water Resources Lt. Col. (Retd) Nazrul Islam Hiro attended the discussion as the chief guest. The Narsingdi pourasava arranged Doa Mahfil (special prayers) and feeing the destitute. Mohammad Kamruzzaman, younger brother of Lokman and the present mayor, presided over the meeting. Lokman was also awarded gold medal as the best mayor of the country, according to a news agency.
