The MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) admission test for the academic year 2023-24 will be held on February 9, 2024.
The BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) intake test for the same academic year will be held on March 8.
Candidates will fight against 5,380 seats in the government medical colleges of the country as the authorities have added 1,030 more seats for the academic session.
There are 6,348 seats in the private medical colleges and 375 seats in the Armed Forces Medical College.
Health Minister Zahid Maleque made the announcement in a media briefing after a meeting at the Secretariat on Sunday.
Students can apply online for admission to MBBS from January 11 while the deadline for application is January 23.
It has been decided that the coaching centres will be kept closed from January 9 for the sake of smooth holding of the MBBS entrance examination, said the minister.
On the examination day, candidates cannot bring mobile phones to the centre. Those who will perform duties inside the centre will also not be able to keep mobile phones.
Keeping the national election in consideration, the admission schedule has been fixed. As in the past, it will be possible to organise the exams smoothly.
