MDs of Pubali Bank, UCBL win GEF awards

Managing Director (MD) of Pubali Bank Ltd Helal Ahmed Chowdhury and Managing Director of United Commercial Bank Ltd (UCBL) M Shahjahan Bhuiyan have won the Global Economist Forum (GEF) awards for their outstanding contribution to the development of Bangladeshi banking.
The awards were given to them at a colourful function held in Malaysia recently, according to a press release.
GEF, a London-based apex body of world famous economists, gave away the award for the recent development of Pubali Bank and United Commercial Bank Ltd due to the hard working and professional efficiency of the two bankers.
GEF was established in 1905 and the member countries of the Forum are now 104.
Helal Ahmed Chowdhury won the award as the Asian Level Standard Banker, while Shahjahan Bhuiyan as the Best Performing Bangladeshi Banker.
