Meaningful dialogue needed, Khaleda tells Robilliard

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia at a meeting with visiting Australian first assistant secretary Paul Robilliard reiterated that a meaningful dialogue is needed to resolve the ongoing political crisis. “Khaleda Zia has underscored the need for a meaningful dialogue for holding a free, fair and credible election in a bid to overcome the current political stalemate,” BNP vice chairman Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury told reporters after the meeting. Mobin said the Austrian minister also supported the BNP chief’s view. Besides, various issues relating to Bangladesh’s latest political situation and the matters of bilateral interest were also discussed at the meeting, he added. Shamsher Mobin, BNP chairperson’s advisers Reaz Rahman, and Sabihuddin Ahmed and Australian High Commissioner in Dhaka Greg Wilcock were present at the meeting, according to a news agency.
