Mechanic crushed under truck he was repairing

An automobile mechanic was crushed to death under a truck he was repairing it in Chhatak Upazila in Sylhet district on Wednesday night. The dead is Pradip, 25, hailing from Hamidpur village of Ghatail Upazila of Tangail. Witnesses said a truck loaded with fertiliser was heading towards Sunamganj from Chittagong. On the way, the vehicle broke down at Gobindaganj on the Sylhet-Chhatak road. Being informed, motor mechanic Pradip came from Chittagong and started repairing the truck lifting it up with a jack around 8:30pm. On impact, the jack loosened off letting the truck fall on Pradip, leaving him dead on the spot, according to a news agency.
