Mechanised farming begins in M\\\'singh

MYMENSINGH, Jan 29 (BSS): Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) has started mechanised farming in the district for boosting production as well as ensuring food security in the current Boro season.
DAE recently arranged a field day to disseminating the technology of the modern farming at Sonapur under Basati union of Muktagachha upazila.
With Muktagachha upazila agriculture officer Nargis Akhter in the chair the function was addressed among others by district training officer of DAE Bebuty Bushan Chakraborty, deputy director Krishibid Habibur Rahman and Rezaul Amin.
Earlier, mechanised farming of Boro paddy with transplantation machine displayed in some lands of the village through which farmers could be able to get practical knowledge of the farming.
Agriculture experts pointed out that mechanised farming is more needed and its best use would attained more yield with low cost and short time.
Mechanised farming is essentials not only for in boosting production but also take pioneer role to ensure food security, said the experts.
