Meditex, Pharma Int’l Expos begin May 8

The sixth Meditex Bangladesh 2014 International Expo and fourth Pharma Bangladesh 2014 International Expo will start on May 8 at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre.
This was disclosed at a press conference on sixth Meditex Bangladesh 2014 International Expo and fourth Pharma Bangladesh 2014 International Expo at the National Press Club in the city on Monday.
CEMS Bangladesh will organise the three- day long exhibition for the Medical, Hospital, Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Industry of Bangladesh in association with CEMS-Global USA.
CEMS Global USA and Asia Pacific President and Group Managing Director Meherun N Islam, CEMS Global USA and Asia Pacific Group CEO S S Sarwar and CEMS Bangladesh General Manager (Admin) Lutfar Rahman were present at the press conference.
Organisers said Bangladeshis have no need to go abroad now for their treatment and check-up as the healthcare industry in the country expanded over the last three years with the establishment of world class new hospitals.
Hospitals in the country have made a drastic improvement in their healthcare facilities and standards in recent years to cater to the need of people.
Prime Minister's Political Affairs Adviser HT Imam is expected to attend the inaugural ceremony as chief guest while state minister for health and welfare Zahid Maleque and health and welfare secretary MM Neazuddin and Bangladesh Medical Association secretary general M Iqbal Arslan are also expected to attend as special guests.
Seventy companies from Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, China, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Poland, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United Sates of America will display their medical, surgical, pharmaceutical and hospital equipment and technology in these fairs.
Bangladesh will also display its latest equipment, devices and instruments for the entire medical sector of the country.
The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) is participating with their 30 members in this expo.
There will be 100 stalls at the expo that will remain open from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm everyday. There will be no entry fee for visitors.
