Meet on law and order held in Khulna

KHULNA, Feb 23 (BSS): A meeting on the overall law and order situation of the district including Khulna city was held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner here Saturday.
The meeting decided to take immediate drive against criminals, listed terrorists, extremists and millitant groups to recover illigal arms ahead of coming second phase of upazila election.
The meeting also thanked law and enforcement agencies for playing vital role to help complete peaceful election at Koyra and Dighalia upazila and expressed satisfaction for reducing crimes in the city and the district.
In last January, at least 138 cases were filed in nine police stations in the district and 99 cases were filed in eight police stations in the city while in December, 2013, the number of cases filed were 149 in the 9 police stations in the district.
