Meeting reviews Tk 2.86b projects under Shipping Ministry

A meeting of the Ministry of Shipping Tuesday reviewed the progress of implementation of projects under the current Annual Development Programme (ADP), reports BSS.
The meeting was held at the conference room of the Shipping Ministry with Shipping Secretary Sheikh AK Motahar Hossain was in the chair.
It was said in the meeting that the 24 projects are being implemented at a cost of Tk 2.86 billion (Tk 286.6 crore), of which Tk 1.40 billion was allocated for implementation of 19 ADP projects while Tk 1.45 billion was allocated for implementation of five non-ADP projects.
The meeting also discussed in detail the progress of purchase for 19 projects under the ADP during the first quarter of the financial year.
The projects under implementation are: introducing the river route around the Dhaka City (second phase), setting up of port and other facilities on the bank of the Buriganga river to keep the lands free from grabbing, modernisation of Benapole land port (first phase), development of Mongla port including dredging at Pashur Channel, trade facilitation and port efficiency improvement plan at Chittagong Port, construction of 400 metres backup facilities at the backside of newly constructed New Mooring Container Terminal of Chittagong Port and construction of Pangaon Inland Container terminal.
