Meghna EZ, Chinese company sign land lease agreement

Meghna Industrial Eco-nomic Zone (MIEZ) Ltd, a concern of Meghna Group of Industries (MGI), has signed a land lease agreement with China Infrastructure Construction BD Co, Ltd on Sunday.
MIEZ Director Tanveer Mostafa and China Infrastructure Construction Managing Director Li Yongjiang signed the agreement. MGI Chairman & Managing Director Mostafa Kamal and Director of Publicity Office, Chinese Enterprises Association in Bangladesh, Zhang Xiaoliang were also present, says a press release.


China Infrastructure Construction is a subsidiary of China Yunnan Lituo Pipe Pile Group and is one of the most powerful foundation construction and prefabricated pipe pile production enterprises in Yunnan Province, China.
As per the agreement, China Infrastructure Construction will establish its prefabricated pipe pile factory in MIEZ. The company will invest about 9.0 million US Dollars in Bangladesh.
The investment includes establishing production area, equipment area, office area, material warehouse, and finished product on 3 acres of land inside MIEZ Ltd.
Prefabricated pipe pile is required in real estate projects, along with the pile foundation for engineering projects such as highways, railways, ports etc. It is also required in pile foundation engineering for power generation projects such as wind power, nuclear power, and solar energy.
