Meghna Life Ins declares 12pc dividend

Meghna Life Insurance Company Limited declared 12 per cent dividend for its shareholders for the year 2006.
The dividend was approved at the 11th annual general meeting of the company held at the Bangladesh Institute of Administration and Management (BIAM) auditorium in the city recently.
Meghna Life Chairman Nizam Uddin Ahmed presided over the meeting.
The AGM was also attended by members of the board of directors Hasina Nizam, M Shamsuddin Ahmed, Nasir Uddin Ahmed and Mohammed Farooq along with other shareholders.
Besides, Managing Director Ekramul Ameen and top executives of the company were also present at the meeting.
The directors' report, audited accounts and balancesheet of the company for the year that ended on December 31, 2006 were also unanimously approved by the shareholders.
From the inception, the company earned total premium over Tk 4.8 billion (480 crore) and its life fund increased to Tk 2.02 billion. In 2007, the life fund is projected at Tk 3.0 billion.
